The Meditation, Confidence Building & Mental Health Awareness Programme was undertaken by FLO Kolkata under its Health, Wellness & Life Skills Initiative to promote emotional well-being, self-confidence and healthier approaches to managing everyday stress among women from grassroots communities. Commencing on 16 May 2026, the programme was carried out across different community and Apni Kutir centres in Kolkata.
The initiative recognised that sustainable empowerment extends beyond vocational and financial independence. Emotional resilience, confidence, self-awareness and the ability to prioritise one’s own well-being are equally important in enabling women to navigate personal, familial and professional responsibilities with greater strength.
Through meditation, mindfulness, confidence-building exercises and mental health awareness sessions, participants were encouraged to understand their emotional needs, develop constructive coping mechanisms and cultivate greater faith in their own abilities. Sessions were designed to be accessible and participative, allowing women to engage with the subject through practical exercises, guided reflection and open conversations.
The programme included the “Khud Pe Bharosa” session at the Behala Centre, which focused particularly on confidence, self-worth and the importance of trusting one’s own capabilities. By taking the programme across multiple centres, FLO Kolkata sought to ensure wider access to wellness interventions for women who may otherwise have limited opportunities to participate in structured mental health and personal development programmes.

Impact & Outcome
Around 400 women were directly impacted through this programme, including Meditation & Confidence Building: 250 women, Mental Health Awareness – Chetla Centre: 100 women, and Mental Health Awareness – Behala Centre: 50 women. The consolidated programme created a significant outreach across Kolkata by integrating meditation, confidence building and mental health awareness into FLO Kolkata’s grassroots empowerment efforts.
Through sustained engagement across different centres, 400 women received exposure to practices and conversations centred on emotional well-being, self-belief and resilience. The initiative therefore created a meaningful platform for women to pause, reflect, strengthen their inner resilience and carry simple practices of emotional wellness into their everyday lives.
