FLO Chennai, under the leadership of Chairperson Dr. Amulya Rao, conducted the “2nd New Members’ Orientation Programme” on 02 June 2026 for 20 newly inducted members. The session was designed to introduce members to the ethos, structure, initiatives, and opportunities within the organisation.
The programme commenced with Dr. Rao presenting an overview of FICCI FLO, highlighting its purpose, core values, and impactful work undertaken through various initiatives. She spoke in detail about grassroots programmes, skilling initiatives, entrepreneurship support, and community-driven efforts that contribute towards women’s empowerment and societal development.
The Chairperson also introduced the Special Interest Groups (SPARK), encouraging members to actively engage and collaborate within these focused groups based on their interests and expertise. Akila Vankalapati, Secretary of FICCI FLO Chennai Chapter, addressed the members on the significance of active engagement in FLO activities and SPARK initiatives. She encouraged members to participate with purpose, build meaningful connections, and make the most of the learning, networking, and leadership opportunities offered through the chapter.
She also highlighted the importance of honouring event registrations and commitments, recognising the extensive planning and coordination involved in organising chapter activities. As part of the orientation programme, each new member was given a minute to introduce themselves, sharing their professional background, interests, and expectations from FLO.
This interactive segment enabled members to get acquainted with one another, discover common interests, and begin building meaningful connections within the chapter. The introductions fostered a warm, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging open dialogue and collaboration from the outset.
The session also covered member engagement opportunities, chapter initiatives, and various avenues through which members could contribute to FLO’s mission while leveraging the platform for personal and professional growth.
The orientation concluded on a positive and engaging note, motivating members to actively participate and make the most of the diverse opportunities offered by FLO. The programme successfully set the tone for a meaningful, enriching, and collaborative journey ahead for all new members.
