FLO Amritsar, under the leadership of Chairperson Tannya Khanna, organized World Art Day – Performing Arts Initiative, at Le Méridien Amritsar. It was a thoughtfully curated cultural experience celebrating the power of storytelling, music, and artistic expression. Designed under the broader vision of Navras, the initiative aimed to create meaningful emotional and cultural connections through performing arts while encouraging dialogue between heritage, memory, and contemporary identity.
The event brought together artists, storytellers, musicians, defence families, rural representatives, and urban audiences in a shared celebration of creativity and community engagement. A key highlight of the evening was Ghar, a storytelling performance by Jasmine Babbar, Storyteller, Founder Awaara Melbourne, accompanied by live music from Tarun Lohia, empowered musician (A Zomato delivery boy). Through an immersive blend of narrative and music, the performance explored themes of home, belonging, migration, and emotional memory, creating a deeply resonant experience for the audience.
The initiative also showcased Metamorphosis, a sculpture by Phaneendra Nath Chaturvedi, symbolising transformation and artistic evolution. Adding to the cultural richness of the event was a heartfelt tribute to Asha Bhosle, celebrating the timeless role of music in preserving collective memory and Indian artistic heritage.
Hosted in a heritage-inspired format, the event transformed the hospitality venue into an interactive cultural space where performing arts became a medium for connection, reflection, and dialogue. The initiative also reflected inclusivity by bringing together Army families, rural women from Wadala Bhitewad, and urban leadership on a common platform of shared cultural experiences.
