Urban Skilling Unit — Launch by Blessings Multiventures in Collaboration with FICCI FLO Lucknow

On 19th June 2026, the Urban Skilling Unit, a joint initiative of Blessings Multiventures, Jan Shikshan Sansthan, and FICCI FLO Lucknow, was inaugurated on Kanpur Road near SKD Hospital. The launch marked the beginning of structured livelihood training for the unit’s first batch of 50 women in stitching, jute bag making, and other livelihood-oriented crafts.

A key feature of the initiative is the certification component built into the programme from the outset. Training is conducted under the Skill India mission, enabling women who successfully complete the programme to receive official government-recognised certification. This provides a formal credential that can support access to employment opportunities, government schemes, and organised markets.

Jute bag making offers opportunities at the intersection of sustainable products and handmade goods, while stitching can open pathways into garment units, tailoring businesses, and self-employment. Certification strengthens these opportunities by providing documented recognition of the skills acquired.

Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) brings its experience in delivering non-formal, community-based vocational education, particularly for women who may have limited access to conventional training. Blessings Multiventures provides the physical space and operational infrastructure required to support continuous, batch-based training.

Impact & Outcome

For FLO Lucknow, the launch represents the creation of a permanent urban skilling access point for women and girls in the community. Through FLO’s committee network, beneficiaries can access structured training, practical skills, and recognised certification.

The first batch of 50 women marks the beginning of a sustained pipeline of skill development and livelihood opportunities, rather than a one-time training initiative.
