FLO Hyderabad’s Agriculture vertical organised a hands-on training session at Jadcherla Agriculture Farm for 150 indian farmers, focused on Subhash Palekar’s five-layer natural farming model. The session was led by Vijay Ram, a passionate advocate for natural and zero-budget farming. Through workshops, talks, and awareness programs, including collaborations with public figures, he empowers farmers across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to transition toward sustainable, chemical-free agriculture.
He demonstrated how multi-layer cultivation maximises income without requiring additional land. Participants explored the economic benefits of diversifying crop portfolios and eliminating chemical inputs — significantly reducing operating costs while improving produce quality.
The session also introduced value-added opportunities such as cold-pressed oils and moringa-based products, positioning natural farming as a direct pipeline into health and wellness markets. Women farmers were specifically encouraged to develop these into small enterprises.
Vijay Ram addresses the current challenges faced by Indian farmers, including the heavy dependence on chemical inputs, rising costs, and declining soil fertility. He offered practical, ground-level solutions rooted in traditional and ecological farming wisdom.
