FICCI FLO, under the leadership of its 43rd National President, Ms. Puja Garg, organized a thought-provoking webinar, “The Space Mindset: Think Bigger. Act Bolder. Shape the Future,” with Ms. Shelli Brunswick, Secretary General, WBAF Global Women Leaders Committee. Ms. Brunswick introduced the leadership framework, ‘Space Mindset,’ to FLO members, which uses the unique perspective of space exploration—where global borders vanish, and systems are deeply interconnected—to solve complex problems on Earth.
CEO & Founder of SB Global LLC, Ms. Brunswick led a masterclass based on her new book, “What Space Got to Do With It? Out of This World Leadership,” discussing how space mission principles apply to leadership in all industries. She outlined four key themes: expanding perspective, inspiring action, building trust through authenticity, and multiplying impact through gratitude.
She drew parallels between space missions and leadership challenges, emphasizing the importance of broadening one’s view, understanding the long-term impact of decisions, and fostering a culture of learning and adaptability, especially in the context of emerging technologies like AI.
The conversation also touched on the importance of mentorship, creating an ownership mindset in teams, and the role of AI in education and its potential environmental impact. Ms. Puja Garg, FLO National President, emphasized the importance of women shaping the future of technology and innovation rather than just participating in it.
The session concluded with a Q&A where Shelli Brunswick addressed participants’ questions and urged them to adopt a forward-looking, boundary-pushing mindset. This webinar is a part of the FLO STEM initiative, led by Ms. Mamta Bakliwal (Lead) and Ms. Kriti Shroff (Co-Lead), with the support of team members Dr. Sujata Sheshadranath, Ankita Khabia, Gurpreet Kaur, Radhika Gupta & Anupama Modi.
