The Legacy of Pearls

Under the leadership of Niyati A. Mehta, The Legacy of Pearls was an engaging and enriching session conducted by Vidya Singh for our FLO members on 12th March, with an enthusiastic participation of over 44 members. The session was thoughtfully curated to highlight the elegance, heritage, and timeless significance of pearls in fashion and culture. Members experienced a well-structured presentation that combined history, craftsmanship, and contemporary relevance, making the event both educational and inspiring.

A key highlight of the session was the fascinating insight into royal family pearls, their historical value, and the legacy they carry across generations. Vidhya Singh explained how pearls have symbolized power, grace, and prestige in royal traditions around the world. Members learned about the meticulous process of pearl formation, including natural and cultured pearl creation, as well as the unique characteristics that define various famous pearls.

This deeper understanding enhanced appreciation for pearls not only as jewellery but also as treasured heirlooms with rich stories behind them. The session also explored the different types of pearls, their origins, quality factors, and outcomes in design and styling. From classic strands to modern statement pieces, members gained practical knowledge on selecting and maintaining pearls.

Overall, The Legacy of Pearls proved to be a highly insightful and memorable experience that broadened perspectives on heritage jewellery and strengthened member engagement through meaningful learning and interaction.
