Technology, Industry & Women: Shaping the New Economy of Bharat

FLO Indore, in collaboration with Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences, Indore, India’s first Skills University, organised a panel discussion at Palash Auditorium to explore the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI), emerging technologies, and FinTech on India’s economic and industrial landscape. The session brought together industry leaders and academic experts to discuss technological advancement, future-ready skills and opportunities for inclusive economic growth.

Moderated by CA Neha Munshi Muchhal, Office Managing Partner, Indore, Grant Thornton Bharat, the panel featured Ms. Neha Mehta, Associate Director, Super Procure; Dr. Vandan Tewari, Professor, Department of Computer Engineering, SGSITS Indore; Dr. Rinku Joshi, Director, Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) Division, Daly College, Indore; and Ms. Shonali Paul, COO, CloudLIMS.

The discussion examined how AI and digital technologies are transforming industries, creating new entrepreneurial opportunities and reshaping workforce requirements. Speakers highlighted the importance of equipping students with relevant technical and professional skills to meet evolving industry demands. The session also emphasised stronger collaboration between educational institutions and industry to bridge the gap between academic learning and employability.

A key focus was the role of FinTech and digital innovation in expanding economic participation and enabling business growth. The panel highlighted the need to make technology more accessible and inclusive, particularly in non-metropolitan regions, so that opportunities arising from technological advancement reach a wider population.

The discussion also underscored the importance of women’s participation in the technology ecosystem, encouraging women to progress beyond participation into roles as innovators, entrepreneurs, decision-makers and leaders. By bringing together perspectives from academia and industry, the session provided valuable insights into building a skilled, inclusive and innovation-driven workforce.

The panel formed part of the larger World Skills Conference, which brought together national and international voices from technology, education, industry and skills development. With 300 selected participants and outreach extending beyond the venue through broadcast and live-streaming, the engagement contributed to wider awareness of emerging technology trends and future career opportunities.

The session engaged 300 selected participants in discussions on AI, FinTech, emerging technologies, and future-ready skills. As part of a larger conference that received over 2,100 applications/participants, the panel promoted industry–academia collaboration, inclusive digital development, and greater opportunities for women in technology and leadership. Broadcast and live-streaming extended the discussion’s reach beyond the attendees present.
