A delegation of 36 women leaders and entrepreneurs from FICCI FLO visited Amorim Cork in Portugal for an insightful study visit focused on sustainability, circularity and value creation.
The delegation experienced the remarkable journey of cork — from the harvesting of cork oak bark and its regeneration to processing, manufacturing, quality, innovation and its diverse applications.
The visit offered a powerful perspective on sustainability beyond carbon — demonstrating how environmental responsibility, biodiversity, healthy ecosystems, rural livelihoods and economic value can coexist within one regenerative model.
It also highlighted how technology, innovation and thoughtful value addition can transform a natural resource while ensuring that even by-products and residues continue to find productive use.
A valuable learning experience in circular economy in action — and an opportunity to reflect on how similar principles of regeneration, resource efficiency and value creation can inspire sustainable models in India.
