FICCI FLO, under the leadership of 43rd National President, Ms. Puja Garg, visited the Beurs voor Diamanthandel (Antwerp Diamond Exchange) in Belgium as part of its international Study Tour. 36 FLO members, women entrepreneurs and leaders, got the opportunity to gain an insightful understanding of the diamond industry—from the history and legacy of Antwerp’s diamond trade to how diamonds from different origins are assessed, shaped, and cut, and how these factors influence their characteristics and value.
The delegation was also introduced to the workings of the diamond trading exchange, offering a rare glimpse into the ecosystem where knowledge, craftsmanship and global commerce come together. An enriching industry exposure under FICCI FLO’s Jewellery & Handicrafts Initiative successfully connected traditional craftsmanship with international markets, trade, and enterprise.
