Speed, Scale & Strategy: Inside Borzo’s Growth Story

FICCI FLO, under the leadership of the 43rd National President, Ms. Puja Garg, hosted an insightful and informative webinar, titled “Speed, Scale & Strategy: Inside Borzo’s Growth Story,” featuring Ms. Alina Kisina, global CEO of Borzo Wefast, a pan-India, on-demand logistics platform for small and medium enterprises. The virtual session fostered a dialogue on how SMEs can sell smarter, scale faster, and stay competent in a digitally advanced and evolving landscape.

Under the leadership of Alina Kisina, Borzo has become a global logistics player that provides fast and hassle-free delivery, having over 1 million deliveries per month in India alone and a network of over 200,000 trained couriers. India is Borzo’s largest market, accounting for nearly 78% of its total global deliveries and over 60% of its revenue. The company once operated in more than 10 countries, but exited plenty of them to focus on high-growth markets only.

Currently, Borzo operates in over 23 Indian cities, and its strongest presence is in Mumbai (global HQ). Ms. Kisina shared her personal and professional journey with the FLO members from being a teacher in a small town to building a global logistics business with her leadership, dedication, and empathy. By focusing on Indian SMEs, Borzo aims to be the technological bridge that allows these small players to compete with larger entities like e-commerce platforms through efficient last-mile delivery.

Ms. Kisina discussed how their company has streamlined different processes, such as transportation, warehousing, inventory management, packaging, and order fulfillment, to reduce costs, improve timely delivery, and mitigate risks. Her company scaled the business through catering to the Indian market first before planning to expand to new countries.

They stand out from the crowd by focusing on last-mile delivery for small and medium businesses rather than big enterprises. Borzo uses AI and other technology to evolve last-mile delivery, handle failed deliveries, and protect riders who serve customers.
