Under the banner of The Amritsar Baithak Circle and guided by the Navras vision of FICCI FLO Amritsar, “Sarangi & Silence” brought together art enthusiasts, community members, and cultural patrons for an intimate evening dedicated to Indian classical music. Held at Timeless Amritsar on Queens’ Road, the event restored the historic mehfil culture—a cherished local tradition where musicians and listeners sit together in a shared, cozy space to experience music in its purest form.
The evening featured soulful performances by acclaimed classical artists Vinayak Sahai (Lucknow) on Sarangi and Zaheen Khan (Delhi) on Tabla. Together, their performance wove a delicate balance between resonant melodic expressions and intricate rhythm, creating moments of quiet introspection and deep artistic connection. The close interaction between the performers and the audience allowed attendees to feel every note, bridging the gap between artist and listener that is often lost in conventional concert venues.
Organized in collaboration with partners including Melody Home Music, Padma Swar Naad, Swarna Trails, and Timeless Amritsar, the event highlighted the power of collective effort in preserving living cultural traditions. By hosting these regular Baithak gatherings, FICCI FLO Amritsar continues to champion the arts, offer a dedicated platform for classical musicians, and enrich the cultural fabric of the city for generations to come.
