Rural Community Day Tour to Millet Farm

FLO Kanpur, led by Chairperson Ms. Nalini Sanwal, under its Rural Community initiative, organized a delightful and educational day tour of the millet farm in Manas Gram Village. This event, under National Initiative – Membership Drive & Membership Engagement, aimed to connect members with the agricultural roots of the region, promote organic farming, and celebrate the contributions of women farmers.

The day began with 24 members, including Chairperson Mrs. Nalini Sanwal, and the group boarded the Kanpur Darshan Bus and departed for the farm. The event was curated by Event Chairs Sarita Prahladka and Ritu Lohia, with invaluable mentorship from Dr. Shefali Raj.

The group was greeted by the Gram Head, Mr. Subodh Dixit who shared his expertise on millets, highlighting – the types of millets, and benefits of millets and encouraged the members to grow millets in small patches on their farm plots. Members toured the potato and mustard fields, and Annapurna Mahila Svayam Sahayta Samooh offered the lunch.

The Chairperson, Ms. Nalini Sanwal, felicitated the women head of the Annapurna Group and the Gram Head, Mr. Subodh Dixit, for their efforts in creating a memorable experience for the members.
