Through four focused collection drives—covering reusable clothing, electronic waste, books and paper, and expired or unused medicines—the Chapter sought to address multiple waste streams while encouraging conscious disposal practices among members and the wider community. The Old Clothes Collection Drive, initiated on 1st June 2026 in collaboration with Goonj, resulted in the recovery of 620 kilograms of reusable clothing. The collected garments were channelled towards dignified redistribution, extending their lifecycle while supporting women and children from underserved communities.
The E-Waste Collection Drive, undertaken in association with Hulladek Recycling Pvt. Ltd., facilitated the responsible collection and authorised recycling of 220 kilograms of electronic waste. By ensuring that discarded electrical and electronic materials were diverted from conventional waste streams, the initiative contributed towards responsible resource recovery and reduced the environmental risks associated with improper disposal.
The Books and Paper Collection Drive, conducted in partnership with CREW, enabled the recovery of 585 kilograms of books and paper. Usable books were earmarked for redistribution to underprivileged students, while recoverable paper was channelled for recycling into educational resources. The initiative effectively combined environmental conservation with educational equity and reinforced the value of knowledge recovery.
The Expired and Unused Medicines Collection Drive, undertaken with the support of InVijnas, facilitated the responsible recovery of 65 kilograms of pharmaceutical waste. Together, these four drives resulted in the recovery of 1,490 kilograms of materials across multiple waste categories.
