On 12 June 2026, Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology hosted the inaugural session of the Masterclass Series, titled “AI Innovation and Emerging Technology Ecosystems.” The session was delivered by Ms. Subathra Mylsamy, Managing Partner of AK Mylsamy & Associates LLP and Head of the Legal Vertical of FICCI FLO Chennai. The workshop was jointly conducted by the AI and Legal Verticals of FICCI FLO Chennai, bringing together complementary perspectives on technology, innovation, governance, and law.
Designed as an interactive half-day workshop, the session provided students with a comprehensive introduction to the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. The discussion began with an overview of AI innovation and its transformative impact across industries, highlighting how technological advancements are reshaping business models, professional opportunities, and societal interactions.
A significant portion of the workshop focused on AI governance and responsible innovation. Students were introduced to key concepts surrounding the ethical use of artificial intelligence, risk management, accountability, transparency, and the importance of developing technology responsibly. The session emphasized that while AI offers tremendous opportunities, it must be implemented within appropriate governance frameworks to ensure fairness, security, and trust.
The workshop also explored the relationship between artificial intelligence and intellectual property, helping students understand ownership, protection of innovation, and legal considerations relevant to technology development. Discussions further addressed the evolving regulatory landscape and the need for individuals and organizations to remain informed about emerging legal frameworks governing technology and digital ecosystems.
One of the most engaging aspects of the session was the interactive question-and-answer segment. Students participated enthusiastically, sharing their perspectives, asking insightful questions, and engaging in meaningful discussions on the opportunities and challenges associated with AI adoption. Their curiosity and active involvement contributed to a dynamic learning environment and demonstrated a strong interest in the future of technology.
The session successfully provided students with valuable insights into AI innovation, governance, and legal awareness. As the first session of the Masterclass Series, it established a strong foundation for future engagements and reinforced FICCI FLO Chennai’s commitment to equipping students with future-ready knowledge, critical thinking skills, and responsible approaches to emerging technologies.
