FLO Uttarakhand, under the leadership of Chairperson Dr. Geeta Khanna, in collaboration with Udgam Foundation, organized Suraksha Session 1 under its Project Shree at Akhil Bhartiya Mahila Ashram, Laxman Chowk, Dehradun. This impactful awareness session was held with the objective of empowering women through enhanced understanding of personal safety, legal rights, and basic self-defense techniques.
The session held under rural skilling and capacity building marked the beginning of a series of self-defense training sessions under the Project Shree initiative, aimed at creating safer and more informed communities for women. Facilitated by Coach Niriksha Chettri, the session was highly engaging, offering practicalinsights and strategies to help participants build confidence and stay prepared in real-life situations.
The project was initiated and led by Tripti Behl, FLO Uttarakhand’s Senior Vice Chairperson and President of Udgam Foundation, whose continued commitment to women’s safety has brought the Project Shree initiative to life.
The program also received the guidance and support of Dr. Geeta Khanna, Chairperson ofFLO Uttarakhand, whose leadership has been instrumental in the execution of this safety-focused initiative. Around 30 people participated in this rural skilling workshop. Also, it recorded an outreach of 15,000, showcasing good engagement among people.
