FLO Kolkata hosted “Own the Room – The Art of Public Speaking,” an engaging and transformative masterclass led by renowned communication coach and media professional Takesh Singh. Conducted under the initiatives of Performing Arts, MSME / Startup Cell & Networking, and Health & Wellness & Life Skills, the session brought together women entrepreneurs, professionals, business leaders, and members seeking to strengthen their communication and leadership capabilities.
Drawing from his own journey—from early stage performances and acting experiences to becoming a respected communication mentor—Takesh highlighted the profound role communication plays in shaping opportunities, influence, and professional success. He emphasised that impactful communication is not about perfection but about authenticity, connection, and the courage to be visible.
A central theme of the workshop was the transformative power of storytelling. Participants explored how compelling narratives can simplify complex ideas, build trust, create emotional resonance, and leave lasting impressions. Through practical exercises, members learned how to construct meaningful stories using visual imagery, emotion, conflict, resolution, and memorable takeaways.
