FLO Chennai conducted a “New Members’ Orientation Programme” on 25th April 2026, attended by 40 newly inducted members. The session was designed to introduce members to the ethos, structure, and opportunities within the organisation. The programme commenced with the Chairperson, Dr. Amulya Rao, presenting an overview of FLO, highlighting its purpose, core values, and the impactful work undertaken through various initiatives.
She spoke in detail about grassroots programs, skilling initiatives, and community-driven efforts that contribute to women empowerment and societal development. The Chairperson also introduced the Special Interest Groups (SPARK), encouraging members to actively engage and collaborate within these focused groups. The Secretary addressed the gathering, emphasising the importance of mindful participation in FLO events.
Members were encouraged to approach each event with intent, to gain meaningful insights and build valuable connections. Guidelines regarding event registrations and the importance of honouring commitments were also highlighted, considering the planning and coordination involved with venues and partners. The Joint Secretary, Ms. Nancy, further provided clarity on membership engagement, various member groups, and avenues available for involvement within the chapter.
An interactive segment was included where each member was given 30 seconds to introduce themselves and share their professional background. This facilitated networking, encouraged openness, and helped build an immediate sense of community among the participants.
The session concluded on a positive and engaging note, motivating members to actively participate and make the most of the diverse opportunities offered by FLO. The orientation successfully set the tone for a meaningful and enriching journey ahead for all new members.
