Legal Literacy Session at Singuli Adopted Village

FLO Coimbatore organised a Legal Literacy Session for tribal women at Singuli, their adopted village. Advocate Shiny addressed the gathering on critical legal rights and protections that women must be aware of. The session covered land rights, dowry laws, helpline numbers, and how to seek legal recourse in times of need. A community lunch was also arranged, bringing the women together in a warm and inclusive setting that encouraged participation and engagement.

Many women in rural and tribal communities are still unaware of the rights and protections available to them, leaving them vulnerable to exploitation, domestic abuse, and land disputes.Through this initiative, FLO Coimbatore aimed to bridge this critical gap by bringing Advocate Shiny directly to the community. The session equipped these women with practical knowledge — from land rights and dowry protection laws, to helpline numbers and whom to approach in times of crisis.

Beyond awareness, the event sought to instil confidence in these women — helping them recognise that the law is on their side and that they have every right to speak up and seek help. A community lunch was included to create a warm, welcoming environment encouraging open participation. This session reflects FLO Coimbatore’s ongoing commitment to grassroots women’s empowerment and community development.
