FLO Bangalore’s Financial Literacy team hosted its first offline session for 200 members, “Legacy with Logic,” at Prestige Falcon Heights, Brunton Road. A powerful conversation occurred around wealth, succession, and the often-overlooked emotional and legal layers of legacy. The event centred on the idea that legacy is not just about what we accumulate, but how we intentionally preserve and pass it on.
The afternoon opened with an evocative keynote by Geetanjali Vikram Kirloskar, Chairperson & MD at Kirloskar Systems, who shared her personal journey of sudden loss and unplanned leadership. Her story served as a wake-up call on the importance of preparedness, especially for women in family businesses. She posed piercing questions: Are we empowering women early enough in life to take on leadership? Can family businesses assure continuity with competence and commitment when succession is internal?
Geetanjali’s narrative – rooted in courage, reinvention, and responsibility – reminded everyone that legacy begins now, not later. Her message resonated with families managing wealth, responsibilities, and transitions, urging them to lead with foresight and clarity. Following her address, a dynamic panel with legal experts, Radhika Gaggar – Partner (Co-Head – Private Client) at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and Tanmay Patnaik – Partner & Head – Private Clients at Trilegal, broke down the complexities of succession structures, inheritance laws, and continuity planning.
Moderated by Sreepriya, the discussion emphasised that legacy isn’t one-size-fits-all – it’s shaped by a family’s unique dynamics, values, and vision. Legacy with Logic was more than a financial event, as it was a call to action. A reminder that true legacy is not just what you leave behind, but the strength and systems you build while you’re here.
