Legacy, Leadership & Growth – Building Family Businesses for Future Generations

FLO Ahmedabad, through its Advocacy & Policy Committee, organised “Legacy, Leadership & Growth – Building Family Businesses for Future Generations” on 27 October 2026 at Le Méridien, Ahmedabad. The session was held under the chairpersonship of Ms. Usha Jaiswal, with Ms. Gopi Jatin Trivedi and Ms. Prachi Patwari, Heads of the Advocacy & Policy Committee, leading the initiative.

The event featured an engaging panel discussion with Dr. Savan Godiawala, Ms. Paridhi Adani, Mr. Gokul Jaykrishna and Prof. Dr. Hitesh Shukla, moderated by Dhvanit Thacker. The panel brought together perspectives from governance, law, business leadership, and academia, giving the audience a well-rounded view of what it takes to build family businesses that endure.

The discussion highlighted the importance of structured governance and succession planning for sustainable family businesses. Panelists emphasised ownership clarity, legal frameworks, and professional management as essential pillars for business continuity. The conversation also encouraged greater participation of women in family business ownership, decision-making, and leadership, aligning closely with FLO’s mission of women’s empowerment.

Another important theme was nurturing next-generation leaders while preserving family values and entrepreneurial vision. The session reinforced the need to protect family brands, intellectual property, and goodwill as valuable generational assets that deserve the same care as financial wealth.

The event drew 90 participants, including 70 FLO members and 20 students of LJ University, creating a valuable exchange between seasoned entrepreneurs and emerging young minds. With four expert panelists and one moderator, the session encouraged informed, forward-looking discussion.

By bringing together experience, expertise and youthful curiosity, the programme underlined the role of planning, professionalism and shared values in turning family enterprises into lasting legacies. Members left with practical perspectives on governance, succession and leadership that they can apply within their own businesses and families. The session reflected FICCI FLO’s commitment to meaningful dialogue on policy, governance and sustainable enterprise growth.
