FLO Mumbai, under the leadership of Chairperson Seema Saroj, launched “Adi Shakti Abhiyan,” the Government of Maharashtra’s Flagship Women Empowerment Initiative, at G.D. Madgulkar Auditorium, Vidyanagari, Baramati, Maharashtra. The initiative focused on advancing holistic women’s empowerment and strengthening communities through convergence, collaboration, and grassroots development. The launch marked several important milestones across education, healthcare, digital inclusion, and women’s empowerment.
Under the Two Wheels of Hope initiative, 2,000 bicycles were distributed to girl students, helping improve access to education, mobility, independence, and opportunity. The wider initiative has also outlined an ambitious campaign to support mobility for girls through large-scale bicycle access. The programme also strengthened grassroots healthcare delivery through the distribution of 10 tablets to ASHA workers, supporting digital access and improved community outreach.
Five STEM laboratories were inaugurated in village schools, creating greater exposure to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics for rural students and helping prepare young learners for a technology-driven future. The broader Adi Shakti Abhiyan reflected a comprehensive approach to women’s development across health, education, nutrition, skills, financial inclusion, safety, social protection, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
The campaign ensured that women received greater awareness of and access to relevant government schemes and opportunities at the grassroots level. FICCI FLO Mumbai is proud to support this vision and contribute to initiatives that strengthen healthcare systems, promote quality education, encourage digital inclusion, and create pathways for women’s economic and social empowerment.
A particularly proud and humbling moment for FICCI FLO Mumbai was receiving a Token of Appreciation from Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Sunetra Pawar Ji, Hon’ble MP Smt. Sudha Murty Ji, and Hon’ble Rajya Sabha MP Smt. Swati Maliwal Ji, in recognition of the Chapter’s continued association and support for this transformative initiative.
