Indian Art Fair EDI+ IONS

FLO Ahmedabad, through its Visual & Performing Arts vertical, hosted an exclusive walkthrough of the Indian Art Fair EDI+IONS Ahmedabad on 19 September at Baronet House, Heritage Haveli. Led by Art Heads Datta Shelat and Aparna Vasa, the experience was intimate, specially curated and designed exclusively for FLO women.

The heritage setting added charm to the afternoon and gave members a distinctive backdrop for engaging with contemporary art. The walkthrough offered a considered view of presentations by a carefully curated selection of leading galleries and design participants. Rather than a conventional fair visit, the format placed personal interaction at its centre.

Members were introduced to gallerists, designers, participating artists, curators and other voices shaping India’s contemporary art landscape, and had the chance to hold direct conversations with them. These exchanges gave guests a closer understanding of the works on view, the thinking behind them and the approaches to collecting art. Members also learned about some of the ideas and conversations shaping the art market today, helping them see art not only as an aesthetic pursuit but also as a meaningful cultural and collecting practice.

The event also created space for young talent. Students of GLS University were integrated into the experience through the FICCI FLO Art Vertical, giving them a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of the walkthrough and interact with established names from the art community. Six performing arts students took part alongside 40 FLO members.

By bringing together members, artists, gallerists and students, the event reflected the vertical’s aim of nurturing appreciation for art and culture within the community. It offered members an enriching, conversation-led experience and gave emerging talent exposure to leading voices in the field, strengthening the bond between art, enterprise and community.
