I Am My Own Laxmi- Financial Literacy and Mental Health Initiative

FLO Amritsar organized a programme titled I Am My Own Laxmi- Financial Literacy and Mental Health Initiative, which aimed to create a holistic platform for women’s financial empowerment, entrepreneurship, mental well-being, and practical life skills. The chapter brought together four interconnected initiatives focusing on financial literacy, women-led entrepreneurship, mental well-being, and practical financial awareness: Dr. Aarti Gupta’s book I Am My Own LAXMI, Boss Lady Spotlight – Startup & She Rises, #बातकरो – Suicide Prevention Month, and Financial Literacy for Educators.

The session featured speakers Tannya Khanna – Chairperson, FICCI FLO Amritsar (2026–27), Dr. Aarti Gupta – Author and Business Leader, Bhumika Batra, Apoorva Kapoor, and Shreya Mehra. The programme encouraged women to understand, manage, and grow their money through insights from Dr. Aarti Gupta’s book I Am My Own LAXMI, while promoting informed financial decision-making and long-term financial independence. The programme also recognised women entrepreneurs through the Boss Lady Spotlight, under FLO Amritsar’s Startup and She Rises initiatives, celebrating their achievements, resilience and contribution to the local business ecosystem.

As part of September Suicide Prevention Month, the programme incorporated the #बातकरो initiative to encourage open conversations around emotional wellbeing, financial stress and seeking support. The financial literacy initiative was further extended to 25 educators at Amandeep Nursing College, enabling them to develop greater awareness of practical money management and financial planning, with the wider student community forming part of the outreach. The programme also reached 500+ students through the wider institutional outreach.

Together, these initiatives reinforced FICCI FLO Amritsar’s commitment to empowering women with financial knowledge, entrepreneurial confidence and greater awareness of emotional wellbeing.
