FICCI FLO, under the leadership of the 43rd National President, Ms. Puja Garg, hosted a curated walkthrough for FLO members for the 9th edition of Delhi Contemporary Art Week 2026 at the Centre for Contemporary Art, Bikaner House, New Delhi. DCAW is hosted in collaboration with six women-led Delhi-based art galleries, which presented contemporary artworks from established and emerging artists from India and South Asia, celebrating the diversity and richness of contemporary artistic practices.
The six women-led art galleries, including Blueprint12, Exhibit 320, Gallery Espace, Latitude 28, Shrine Empire, and Vadehra Art Gallery, explored themes of identity, memory, ecology, land, belonging, and materiality, reflecting the breadth of contemporary artistic practices.
Key Highlights
- Gallery Espace – Their ‘Presenting Abundance’ theme explored detail, colour, surface and ornament, drawing partly from miniature traditions while moving towards abstraction.
- Blueprint12 – ‘Ways of Being Seen’ theme examined the human figure through themes of identity, displacement, vulnerability, memory and grief.
- Latitude 28 – ‘Meridian’ theme brought together 14 artists exploring land, inheritance, folklore, archives and personal histories.
- Shrine Empire – Their artworks presented South Asian practices engaging with memory, landscape, displacement and socio-political histories.
- Exhibit 320 – The artworks focused on materiality, home, memory, labour, migration, ecology and displacement.
- Vadehra Art Gallery – ‘Geography of Tender Things’ theme explored place through memory, landscape, migration and emotional experience.
Outcome
The exclusive curated walkthrough by FICCI FLO provided members with an immersive understanding of contemporary art, encouraging meaningful engagement with diverse artistic practices while fostering greater awareness of themes such as ecology, climate, identity, memory and belonging. The walkthrough for Delhi Contemporary Art Week 2026 was spearheaded by Ms. Mandira Lamba, Past Chair, YFLO, and Ms. Ritu Vadhera, Day Chair, who added depth and perspective to the experience.
