On 30 September 2026, the Bengaluru Chapter hosted the Flo Art Collective Pop-Up Choir, “Sing Together, Rise Together”, with The Soul Circle Collective. The event belonged to the Performing Arts category. It invited 50 members to experience collective music-making in a relaxed, inclusive, and joyful setting. The session began with a warm welcome and simple icebreakers to help members settle in and feel comfortable. The facilitators from The Soul Circle Collective set the tone by explaining that there would be no auditions and no judgment, only the joy of singing together.
This helped even the most hesitant members open up and take part freely. Next, members did gentle vocal warm-ups and breathing exercises, which helped them relax, focus, and get their voices ready. The facilitators then introduced a popular song and taught it step by step. Members picked up the melody quickly and then explored harmonies, learning how different voice parts blend into one rich sound.
As the session went on, the energy in the room rose. Members listened closely to each other, matched their timing, and supported one another, which turned individual voices into a unified choir. The facilitators also encouraged members to bring emotion and expression into the song, so the performance became more meaningful and heartfelt. The highlight was the final performance, when members sang the full song together as a choir.
Learning a new tune and delivering it confidently within about an hour gave everyone a strong sense of achievement and pride. Many members said they felt reconnected with the joy of singing and performing, which some had not experienced in years. Beyond the music, the event offered real benefits for well-being. Singing together reduced stress, encouraged mindfulness, and lifted everyone’s spirits. It also built confidence, creativity and teamwork, and strengthened bonds among members.
The Pop-Up Choir showed that music is a powerful tool for connection and personal growth. Members left feeling refreshed, energised and inspired, with many keen to take part in more performing arts experiences with the chapter. The event truly lived up to its theme: Sing Together, Rise Together.
