Fashion Walk

In a vibrant celebration of Children’s Day, the Young Flo (YFLO) Hyderabad Chapter successfully organized a “Fashion Walk” for the students of Kanya Gurukul High School. The core objective of the initiative was to encourage creativity, boost confidence, and enhance presentation skills among students by providing them with a unique platform for self-expression

through costume design and short ramp walks.

Event Highlights

The event saw enthusiastic participation from students of Classes 6, 7, 8, and 9, each presenting their costumes based on a distinct theme assigned to their respective grade. A key

focus was placed on originality, with participants highly encouraged to incorporate handmade or student-created elements into their looks. During their walk, each student offered a brief, insightful introduction to the judges, explaining their interpretation of the theme.

Class 6: Freedom Fighters.

Class 7: Cosmos and Space.

Class 8: Weather & Seasons (Rain, Summer, Winter, Spring).

Class 9: Nature & Elements (Earth, Fire, Water, Air) 

Judging and Assessment

The assessment was meticulously carried out by a distinguished panel of representatives from YFLO. The esteemed panel of judges included:

  • Sonali Jain

Evaluation was conducted using a pre-defined scorecard that ensured fairness and comprehensive review. The key judging parameters included:

  1. Theme Interpretation: Depth and accuracy in relating the costume to the assigned theme.
  2. Creativity & Effort: Originality of the design and the visible effort in incorporating handmade elements.
  3. Confidence & Presentation: The participant’s poise, stage presence, and the clarity of their explanation.
  4. Neatness & Safety: Ensuring the costume was well finished and safe for movement.
  5. Overall Impression: The lasting impact of the presentation.

Conclusion

The YFLO Themed Fashion Walk was a resounding success, achieving its goal of fostering a celebratory and inclusive environment. The initiative highlighted the immense creative

potential and confidence of the students. At the conclusion of the event, one outstanding winner was selected from each participating grade. These winners were felicitated by YFLO representatives with a memento and a gift hamper, acknowledging their exceptional effort and creativity.

The event successfully strengthened the community partnership between Kanya Gurukul High School and YFLO, turning Children’s Day into a memorable celebration of expression, imagination, and joyful participation.
