YFLO Kolkata organized “Educate • Enable • Empower – Financial Literacy,” a grassroots digital and financial literacy initiative at Dakshini Prayas, Kolkata. Spanning two interactive workshops on May 18 and June 29, 2026, the program was designed to equip community women with the knowledge and confidence to make independent financial decisions and navigate the digital banking ecosystem safely.
The sessions were conducted by financial experts from Dhanvesttor, in collaboration with Dakshini Prayas, under YFLO Kolkata’s Financial Literacy and Digital Literacy initiatives. The workshops focused on simplifying complex concepts through practical demonstrations on safe UPI usage, digital banking, cyber hygiene, and fraud prevention. Rather than relying on theory, the facilitators encouraged active participation, allowing the women to share real-life challenges and build practical confidence.
Key outcomes and lessons from this initiative include:
- Developing strong confidence among participants in using digital banking and cashless payment platforms.
- Equipping women with the practical knowledge to identify, prevent, and respond to common cyber and financial frauds.
- Encouraging responsible financial decision-making and emphasizing the strict protection of personal financial data.
- Bridging knowledge gaps to promote digital inclusion and grassroots financial independence.
- Building a trusted community environment where women are empowered to manage their resources and secure their families’ futures.
