At the FICCI FLO Bengaluru flagship event, Dr. Kiran Bedi officially launched the E-Waste Social Drive by unveiling the initiative and endorsing its core message of responsible disposal and sustainable living. Through her address, she urged citizens, institutions, and businesses to take collective ownership of environmental responsibility, thereby giving the drive strong moral authority, visibility, and momentum.
Running from 26th July to 26th September 2026, the drive invites individuals, corporates, schools, colleges, and residential communities to dispose of unused and obsolete electronic items such as mobile phones, laptops, chargers, cables, adapters, printers, and scanners. To ensure accessibility and participation, two designated collection points have been established in Richards Town and Nagavara.
The E-Waste Social Drive strongly champions the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, aiming to divert electronic waste from landfills and informal recycling channels into safe and sustainable processing systems. In addition to centralized drop-off points, the initiative enables offices, educational institutions, and community groups to host dedicated collection drives with logistical and operational support from partner organizations.
Through this city-wide movement, FICCI FLO Bengaluru reinforces its commitment to sustainability and community impact, mobilizing its influential network to contribute meaningfully toward environmental protection and a more sustainable urban future. The initiative achieved a city-wide footprint of 15,000 individuals across Bengaluru with 2 strategic drop-off locations (Richards Town & Nagavara) deployed to maximize local community engagement and participation.
