FLO Bangalore, under its Social Impact Circle, successfully hosted She Flies – Wings of Honor: Empowering Army Families Through Drone Technology on 10th June 2026 at Neosky, Kasturi Nagar, Bengaluru. The initiative was designed to empower women from military families with future-ready skills in drone technology, creating opportunities for economic independence, digital inclusion, and participation in India’s rapidly expanding drone ecosystem.
The programme brought together 25 women, primarily wives and daughters of military personnel, for a structured training experience that combined theoretical learning, flight simulation, and hands-on practical exposure to drone operations. The event was attended by Mrs. Dekyi Chawla, National Head – AI & Digital Skilling; Mrs. Rupa Bajaj from the National Drone Team; Mrs. Neelam Agarwal, Social Impact Vertical Head; and members of the FLO Social Impact Team, all of whom encouraged participants to embrace technology-driven careers and explore emerging opportunities in the aviation sector.
The workshop introduced participants to the fundamentals of drone technology, aviation safety, operational protocols, and certification pathways, while also highlighting the diverse applications of drones across agriculture, logistics, surveillance, infrastructure monitoring, disaster management, and public services. Through practical flying sessions and simulation exercises, participants gained valuable technical skills and first-hand experience operating unmanned aerial vehicles.
A key highlight of the initiative was its focus on leveraging the resilience, discipline, and adaptability inherent within military families and channeling those strengths into high-growth technology careers. Beyond technical training, the programme fostered confidence, leadership, and entrepreneurial thinking, enabling participants to envision new professional pathways.
The initiative aligns with FLO’s broader vision of promoting AI and Digital Skilling while contributing to the national goal of creating a strong pipeline of women drone pilots. By equipping participants with specialised knowledge and practical exposure, She Flies – Wings of Honor represents a meaningful step towards empowering women to become active contributors to India’s digital economy and innovation ecosystem.
