FLO Bhubaneswar organised a Cybersecurity Awareness Programme aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs and professionals with practical knowledge to navigate the increasingly digital environment safely and confidently.
The programme commenced with an inspiring address by Biyot Projna Tripathy, Chairperson, FICCI FLO Bhubaneswar Chapter. She highlighted the growing importance of digital awareness, cybersecurity preparedness and responsible online practices. She encouraged members to actively participate, interact with the distinguished police officials and make the best use of the valuable knowledge and practical insights shared during the programme.
Following the Chairperson’s address, Dr. S. Dev Datta Singh, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack; Shri Narasingha Bhol, IPS, Addl. Commissioner of Police; Shri Swaraj Debata, OPS-I, Addl. DCP, IT & Social Media Cell; Shri Akshaya Kumar Nayak, OPS, ACP, IT & Social Media Cell; and Shri Sambit Kumar Majhi, Addl. DCP, Traffic, Commissionerate Bhubaneswar-Cuttack interacted with the women entrepreneurs.
The speakers discussed cyber threats faced in day-to-day personal and business activities, including financial fraud, phishing, identity theft, data breaches, hacking, online scams, malicious malware and emerging digital risks. They shared preventive measures and stressed vigilance, secure digital practices and timely reporting of cyber incidents.
Participants were also introduced to important government and police initiatives for digital safety, including the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal, 1930 Cyber Crime Helpline, Sanchar Saathi, Chakshu, CNAP and Aadhaar-related services. The session also highlighted CBI’s ABHAY AI Helpbot for verification of CBI notices and protection against impersonation and digital fraud. Commissionerate Police initiatives and cybercrime support mechanisms were also discussed.
An important part of the interaction focused on traffic rules, road safety and challenges faced by citizens in daily commuting and business activities. Participants raised practical concerns, while the police officials discussed solutions, greater adherence to traffic regulations and responsible road behaviour.
The programme also created awareness about criminal laws like BHARATIYA NYAYA SANHITA 2023 and relevant legal provisions for Section 67,67 A,67 B helping participants understand their rights, responsibilities and appropriate avenues for assistance. The distinguished guests were felicitated by the Chairperson with mementos and uttariyas as a mark of appreciation and gratitude.

Around 35 members participated in the Cyber Crime Prevention-focused session. The programme successfully combined cybersecurity awareness, digital safety, government initiatives, traffic discipline, road safety and legal awareness, empowering women entrepreneurs and professionals to remain vigilant, informed and confident.
