As part of FLO Chennai’s Life Skills & Income Generation Initiative, a Caregiver Training & Nutrition Awareness Programme was conducted in partnership with the RMD Healthcare Team at the Presentation Social Service Centre.
The programme brought together 48 women beneficiaries to understand the growing need for trained caregivers, particularly in elder care and home-based patient support. Participants were introduced to the fundamentals of caregiving, nutrition, patient handling and compassionate care.
The session highlighted General Duty Assistant (GDA) and Home Caregiver roles as emerging livelihood opportunities. FLO Chennai hopes to encourage interested participants to enrol in formal caregiver training programmes, enabling them to build employable skills and access sustainable income opportunities.
