Ms. Puja Garg, National President, FICCI FLO, addressed the Inaugural Session of the BRICS WBA Women-Led Development Summit & Exhibition, held in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Child Development at Crystal Ball Room, The Lalit, New Delhi. Coinciding with the 18th BRICS Summit, the BRICS WBA summit highlighted FLO’s commitment to building an enabling ecosystem for women to lead, scale and shape India’s growth story.
In her address, she highlighted FLO’s work in advancing women-led development through entrepreneurship, technology, skilling, financial and digital inclusion, sustainability and market access, while emphasising the need to create stronger pathways for women to participate in and drive economic growth. Ms. Garg highlighted how FICCI FLO has consistently worked towards advancing women’s economic participation across India with the collective support of 15,000+ members and 22 chapters.
She also spoke about FLO’s engagement with the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance (WBA) and the immense potential for strengthening collaboration among women entrepreneurs across BRICS countries through business linkages, knowledge exchange, technology, investment and access to global markets. Under India’s BRICS WBA Presidency, this event brought together policymakers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, investors and development practitioners from across BRICS and partner countries for conversations around the future of women-led development.
Discussions focused on critical areas including Women in STEM, Digital Technologies & Innovation; Women-Led Agri-Food Systems; Women’s Health & Digital Healthcare; Financial & Digital Inclusion; and Women-Led Startups and Innovation Ecosystems. FLO National President urged women entrepreneurs and professionals to build scalable businesses and create more jobs, contributing to economic development.
Ms. Puja Garg said, “Women-led development must be measured not only by how many women we empower, but by how many enterprises we build, how many businesses we scale, how many jobs we create, and how significantly women contribute to economic growth.”
Alongside the BRICS WBA summit, an exhibition showcased innovative products, services, and solutions by women entrepreneurs and organisations, giving participants a chance to discover, engage with, and explore these offerings.
