Blood Donation Drive

FLO Bangalore, under the leadership of Chairperson Deepa Boopesh Reddy, organized a Blood Donation Drive under it’s Social Impact Circle on 11 June 2026. It was a meaningful initiative focused on health, wellness, and community service. Conducted in collaboration with M.S. Ramaiah Hospital and Ramaiah College, the event brought together students, faculty members, FLO members, and volunteers for a shared humanitarian cause. The drive was designed not only to collect blood for patients in need but also to create awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation as a critical component of healthcare support.

The event witnessed encouraging participation from donors who came forward with enthusiasm and a strong sense of social responsibility. The entire process was managed by qualified medical professionals and trained personnel, ensuring that all donations were carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with required medical and hygiene protocols. This helped create a smooth and reassuring experience for donors, especially first-time participants, while reinforcing trust in the process.

A key highlight of the event was the presence of distinguished medical experts, including Dr. D. Ramesh, Head of the Department of Urology at Ramaiah Medical College Hospital, and Dr. Vibha Shetty, Senior Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics and Head of the Department of Oral Implantology. Their presence added value and credibility to the initiative, while also emphasizing the importance of public participation in healthcare-related social impact programs.

Beyond the immediate outcome of blood collection, the drive served as a platform to educate participants and dispel common myths surrounding blood donation. It encouraged young adults and community members to view blood donation as a regular and responsible civic contribution. The initiative also strengthened collaboration between FICCI FLO Bengaluru, academic institutions, and healthcare stakeholders, paving the way for future community outreach programs in the areas of health and wellness.

Overall, the event was a successful and impactful effort that demonstrated how collective action, when guided by purpose and partnership, can make a real difference. Around 45 FLO members participated, along with a footprint of 11,500. It reinforced the message that a single act of donation can help save lives and contribute meaningfully to the larger healthcare ecosystem.
