FLO Kolkata, through its STEM / AI Initiative and Digital Literacy Initiative, successfully organised the AI for Smartphones – PowerUp Tech Workshop, an immersive programme that enabled participants to confidently navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of Artificial Intelligence. Designed as a highly interactive learning experience, the workshop introduced members to the transformative potential of AI through practical demonstrations using everyday smartphones.
Participants gained a comprehensive understanding of how intelligent technologies can simplify workflows, enhance creativity, and help in decision-making across both personal and professional spheres. A key highlight of the session was the exploration of ChatGPT’s advanced capabilities, enabling participants to move beyond basic usage and harness AI as an intelligent collaborator for research, content creation, document transformation, image generation, strategic planning and productivity enhancement.
The workshop also demonstrated innovative applications such as AI-assisted interior visualisation, image blending, workflow optimisation and personalised digital assistance, showcasing the versatility of AI in everyday life. Complementing these technical insights was a strong emphasis on responsible digital citizenship. Participants were introduced to best practices in digital privacy, ethical AI usage, cyber awareness, verification of AI-generated content, and the identification of misleading or fraudulent digital communication.
The workshop was led by Mahima Bhalotia, Founder of Social Paathshala and an accomplished Tech Coach known for making complex digital technologies accessible through practical, experience-driven learning. Through engaging demonstrations, interactive exercises and real-life applications, she inspired participants to confidently adopt AI-powered tools while fostering a balanced understanding of innovation, ethics and responsible digital practices.
By seamlessly advancing the objectives of both the STEM / AI Initiative and the Digital Literacy Initiative, the programme transcended conventional technology training. It inspired a meaningful shift in perspective—from viewing Artificial Intelligence as a complex innovation to embracing it as an accessible, empowering and transformative resource. The initiative reaffirmed FLO Kolkata’s commitment to building a community of digitally confident women leaders who are prepared to adapt, innovate and excel in an AI-enabled future.
