FLO Mumbai, under its Memorandum of Understanding with Thane Badminton Academy, proudly participated in the National-Level Badminton Championship held from 15th to 20th June 2026. The six-day tournament brought together over 500 players from across Maharashtra, competing across various age categories in singles and doubles events. The championship served as an important platform for young athletes to demonstrate their talent, determination, discipline, and sportsmanship while competing at a high level.
Throughout the tournament, participants showcased exceptional skill and commitment, reflecting the growing strength of grassroots badminton in the region. The tournament commenced with an inauguration ceremony led by Past Chairperson Archana Burman and Joint Treasurer Pooja Bansal. The Closing Ceremony and Final Prize Distribution were presided over by Chairperson Seema Saroj, Past Chairperson Aarmeen Mogul Dordi, and Executive Secretary Megha Suhas, who felicitated the winners and applauded the dedication of all participants.
A significant highlight of the partnership was the identification of one outstanding girl player for annual sponsorship by FICCI FLO National, providing continued support for her training and sporting development. This initiative reflects FLO’s commitment to nurturing promising female athletes and creating pathways for young women to excel in competitive sports.
The event also provided an opportunity for meaningful engagement with athletes, coaches, and parents, offering valuable insights into the needs of grassroots sports development and reinforcing the importance of sustained investment in young talent.
