The FICCI FLO Bangalore Chapter organized a comprehensive POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Workshop on 25th June 2026 as part of its commitment to promoting legal literacy, workplace safety, and gender-inclusive professional environments. Facilitated by Ms. Shweta Krishnappa, the workshop was designed to equip participants with a practical understanding of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, while encouraging organizations and individuals to foster workplaces built on dignity, respect, and accountability.
The interactive session brought together employers, employees, entrepreneurs, professionals, and homemakers, creating a diverse platform for learning and meaningful dialogue. The workshop covered the key provisions of the POSH Act, including the definition of sexual harassment, the rights and responsibilities of employees and employers, the constitution and role of the Internal Committee (IC), complaint redressal procedures, confidentiality requirements, and employer obligations in ensuring compliance with the law.
Through practical case studies, real-life workplace scenarios, and engaging discussions, participants explored the challenges involved in identifying, preventing, and responding to inappropriate workplace behaviour. The session emphasized that effective POSH implementation extends beyond legal compliance and requires organizations to cultivate a culture of awareness, empathy, trust, and mutual respect. Participants were encouraged to ask questions, share experiences, and discuss best practices for creating safe and inclusive workplaces across different sectors.
A key highlight of the workshop was its focus on prevention through education and proactive action. Ms. Krishnappa provided actionable guidance on conducting awareness programmes, strengthening Internal Committees, handling complaints with fairness and sensitivity, and ensuring timely and confidential redressal. The practical insights shared enabled participants to better understand their legal obligations while reinforcing the importance of ethical leadership and responsible workplace practices.
The workshop concluded with an engaging question-and-answer session, allowing participants to clarify concerns and deepen their understanding of the POSH framework. The session was highly appreciated for its practical relevance, interactive format, and clear guidance, leaving attendees better equipped to champion safer, more respectful, and legally compliant workplaces within their organizations and communities.
