AI Essentials – A Practical Introduction

FLO Chennai successfully hosted AI Essentials – A Practical Introduction on 18 June 2026 at the Madras Management Association, Chennai. The session was conducted in collaboration with BN Transforma Solutions and was facilitated by its Founder and CEO, Ms. Breeda Roshini Nathan. The programme attracted 137 participants, including FLO members, entrepreneurs, professionals, and students who were keen to understand the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence in today’s world.

The session commenced with an introduction to the fundamentals of AI, where participants were guided through the evolution of artificial intelligence, its relevance in the modern workplace, and its growing role across industries. The speaker presented complex concepts in a simple and engaging manner, making the content accessible even to those with no prior exposure to AI.

Participants were introduced to various AI-powered tools and practical use cases that demonstrated how technology can enhance productivity, streamline workflows, improve communication, and support business growth. A live demonstration of AI applications provided valuable insights into the capabilities of these tools and showcased how they can be integrated into everyday professional activities.

A key segment of the programme focused on responsible AI usage, highlighting ethical considerations, data privacy concerns, potential risks, and the importance of critical thinking when using AI-generated outputs. This encouraged participants to adopt a balanced and informed approach towards emerging technologies.

The highlight of the event was an interactive hands-on workshop where attendees worked through practical business scenarios and explored AI-driven solutions relevant to their own professions and enterprises. The activity enabled participants to immediately apply their learning and gain confidence in using AI tools effectively.

The session was intentionally opened to both members and non-members, reinforcing FLO Chennai’s commitment to creating inclusive learning opportunities and broadening access to future-ready skills. A particularly inspiring outcome emerged when an entrepreneur engaged in organic farming shared that she had successfully created a promotional poster for her business during the workshop and planned to use it for social media marketing. Her experience exemplified the practical value of the programme and demonstrated how AI can empower individuals and businesses to innovate and grow.
