Drone Remote Pilot Training Workshop

FLO Bangalore, under its Social Impact Circle, successfully hosted She Flies: Empowering 21 Brilliant Young Minds Through Drone Technology on 20th June 2026 at Neosky, Kasturi Nagar, Bengaluru. The initiative was designed to bridge the gender gap in emerging technologies by providing young women with hands-on exposure to drone technology and creating pathways toward future-ready careers in aviation, innovation, and the digital economy.

The programme brought together 21 young women aged 18–22 from diverse socio-economic backgrounds for an immersive learning experience that combined technical instruction, flight simulation, and practical exposure to drone operations. Guided by certified drone pilots and industry experts, participants were introduced to the fundamentals of aerodynamics, aviation safety, drone regulations, and real-world applications of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

A key highlight of the workshop was the opportunity for participants to operate drones firsthand, transforming theoretical concepts into tangible skills. The sessions also explored career pathways within India’s rapidly expanding drone ecosystem, including opportunities in agriculture, logistics, infrastructure monitoring, disaster management, surveillance, and entrepreneurship. Discussions on licensing, safety compliance, and industry trends helped participants understand the commercial and professional potential of drone technology.

The initiative reinforced FLO Bengaluru’s commitment to empowering women through digital skilling and technology-led opportunities. By providing direct access to cutting-edge technology, the programme encouraged participants to see themselves as future innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders in emerging sectors. The presence of role models from the drone industry further inspired confidence and challenged traditional perceptions about women’s participation in technology.

Beyond technical learning, the workshop fostered self-belief, leadership, and economic aspiration. For many participants, it was their first interaction with aerospace technology, opening new possibilities for education, employment, and entrepreneurship. She Flies successfully demonstrated how access to technology can create opportunity, inspire ambition, and empower young women to shape their own futures.
