She Flies – Drone Remote Pilot Training Workshop

FLO Bangalore, under its Social Impact Circle, successfully hosted the She Flies – Drone Remote Pilot Training Workshop on 6th June 2026 at Neosky, Kasturi Nagar, Bengaluru. The initiative was designed to introduce young women to the rapidly evolving world of drone technology while equipping them with future-ready skills and creating awareness about career opportunities in aviation, defence, security, and emerging technology sectors.

The workshop brought together 25 NCC girl cadets for an immersive learning experience that combined classroom instruction, flight simulation, and hands-on drone operation. The programme was attended by Mrs. Payal Bhate, Day Chair, FICCI FLO Bengaluru Chapter, Mrs. Rupa Bajaj from the FLO National Drone Team, and Mrs. Henna Kalro from the FLO National AI & Digital Skilling Team, all of whom encouraged participants to explore technology-driven careers and embrace innovation with confidence.

The training followed a structured curriculum that covered the fundamentals of drone technology, aviation safety protocols, regulatory compliance, navigation systems, and awareness of DGCA certification pathways. Participants were also introduced to real-world applications of drones across sectors such as public services, disaster management, agriculture, surveillance, infrastructure monitoring, and defence. A key highlight of the workshop was the practical flying experience, including exposure to a 15 kg drone platform, enabling cadets to gain first-hand operational understanding and technical confidence.

The programme reinforced FLO Bengaluru’s commitment to empowering women through skilling and technology. Beyond technical training, the workshop fostered leadership, problem-solving abilities, and self-confidence among participants. As part of FLO’s larger vision of creating 1,000 Women Drone Pilots across India, the initiative served as an important step towards building a strong pipeline of skilled young women prepared to participate in the future of aviation and emerging technologies.
