FLO Mumbai successfully organized the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” Tree Plantation Drive at Cotton Green Ram Mandir, Mumbai Port Authority Premises, Mumbai, as part of its commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. The initiative brought together FLO members, representatives from Mumbai Port Authority, community participants, and young deaf and mute girls in a collective effort to contribute towards a greener and healthier environment.
Held under the leadership of Chairperson Seema Saroj, the tree plantation drive focused on encouraging active participation in environmental conservation through the planting of saplings, symbolizing growth, hope, and a commitment to future generations. A particularly heartwarming aspect of the event was the enthusiastic participation of the deaf and mute girls who joined the plantation activity.
Their involvement added immense meaning to the initiative and highlighted the importance of creating inclusive opportunities where every individual can contribute to positive social and environmental change. The initiative was aligned with the vision of creating greener urban spaces while encouraging individuals to contribute towards environmental stewardship. Around 500 saplings were planted on the occasion of World Environment Day.
The drive sought to inspire participants to recognize the importance of trees in combating climate change, improving air quality, preserving biodiversity, and creating a healthier future for generations to come. Through collaborative efforts and active participation, the event reinforced the message that collective action can lead to lasting impact.
