Drone Remote Pilot Training Workshop

FLO Bangalore, under the leadership of Chairperson Deepa Bhoopesh Reddy, under its Social Impact Circle vertical, successfully organized the Drone Remote Pilot Training Workshop for women at Neosky – Drone Remote Pilot Training Organisation, Kasturi Nagar, Bengaluru, as part of FLO’s National Initiative on Technology & Innovation for Women Empowerment. The initiative was supported and sponsored by The Bangalore Brick & Tile Co (Yelahanka) Pvt Ltd and focused on empowering young women with future-ready technological skills and career opportunities in the rapidly growing drone ecosystem.

The primary objective of the workshop was to provide participants with DGCA-aligned drone operation training and exposure to emerging applications of drone technology across sectors such as agriculture, surveying, logistics, mapping, and infrastructure monitoring. The one-week training program combined classroom sessions on drone regulations, aviation safety, operational protocols, and technical fundamentals with hands-on simulator learning and practical outdoor flying exercises. Participants received direct guidance from Neosky’s certified instructors, enabling them to gain confidence in operating drones safely and effectively.\

A total of 25 student beneficiaries between the ages of 18 and 22 successfully completed the training program, which included both theoretical instruction and field-based practical sessions. Fifteen FICCI FLO members actively coordinated, mentored, and supported the participants throughout the initiative, ensuring an engaging and encouraging learning environment. Distinguished guests and industry leaders, including Mrs. Deepa Bhoopesh Reddy, Mrs. Dekyi Chawla, Mr. Devendra, Commander & Director of VTU, and Mr. Rishi Kumar, Business Development Engineer at Neosky, inspired participants by sharing insights on innovation, digital literacy, and opportunities in STEM-related careers.

The workshop not only enhanced technical knowledge but also strengthened digital confidence and encouraged women to explore non-traditional career pathways in technology and aviation. It challenged gender stereotypes by demonstrating that women can actively participate and excel in emerging technology-driven industries.

Through a combination of classroom learning, simulator-based training, and live outdoor flying sessions, participants gained hands-on experience and confidence in operating drones responsibly and efficiently.
