FICCI FLO, under the leadership of National President Puja Garg, organised a high-level Interactive Session with the visiting delegation of the Women’s Caucus of the Parliament of Sri Lanka on 13th May 2026 in New Delhi. The interaction was facilitated by the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka as part of the delegation’s official Orientation Programme in India. This meeting brought together FLO members, women entrepreneurs, policymakers, and industry experts for a meaningful dialogue on women’s economic empowerment, cross-border cooperation, entrepreneurship, skill development, and leadership.
The delegation comprised 15 Women Members of Parliament and 4 Parliamentary Staff members, led by Hon’ble Saroja Savithri Paulraj, Minister of Women and Child Affairs, Government of Sri Lanka, and was accorded the status of ‘Guests of the Parliament of India’. The session was addressed by Mr. Anant Swarup, Secretary General, FICCI, who underlined the importance of strengthening India–Sri Lanka parliamentary and institutional cooperation, particularly in advancing women’s leadership and inclusive development.
In her special address, Minister Saroja Savithri Paulraj warmly applauded the impactful work being undertaken by FICCI FLO in the domains of women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship, skilling, and leadership development. Ms. Paulraj shared best practices in Child Welfare, nutrition, women-led development, and curbing related crimes.
She highlighted the strong potential for future collaboration between Sri Lanka and India across key areas such as women’s economic empowerment, digital inclusion, sustainability, and enterprise development.
The interaction provided a meaningful platform for dialogue and exchange on shared priorities, and concluded with networking and a specially curated dinner, further reinforcing opportunities for sustained engagement and bilateral collaboration between women leaders and institutions of both countries.
