Rangotsav – STEM Art Competition

Rangotsav – STEM Art Competition was a large-scale educational outreach initiative led by YFLO Ahmedabad, aimed at fostering early interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) among children through creative expression. The initiative used art as a medium to make STEM concepts engaging, accessible, and joyful—particularly for children from rural and semi-rural government and aided schools who have limited exposure to experiential learning.

Scale & Participation

  • 22 schools covered across rural and semi-rural Ahmedabad
  • 2,051 STEM-themed painting sheets distributed
  • 1,595 completed artworks received
  • Age group: 6 to 18 years
  • 157 students awarded with medals, certificates, and art kits
  • Participation certificates issued to all collaborating schools

Event Design & Execution

The competition was conducted at the school level, ensuring maximum inclusion and comfort for children. Students were encouraged to interpret STEM themes freely through colors and imagination, without fear of evaluation or right-wrong answers.

Paintings were collected within defined timelines and evaluated age-wise to ensure fairness and inclusivity. Winners were selected across multiple categories and recognized for creativity, understanding, and expression.
