FLO Chennai, under the leadership of Chairperson Ms. Niyati A. Mehta, inaugurated a project in collaboration with the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT), which was implemented by the Immediate Past Chairperson CA Divya Abhishek. The project focused on reducing parental stress, especially for working mothers.
The Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M.K. Stalin inaugurated the landmark education-based crèche facilities across 16 SIPCOT Industrial Parks in Chennai. The infrastructure has been developed by SIPCOT, while operations and maintenance is managed by FICCI FLO Chennai. The project is expected to benefit nearly 3.23 lakh employees, contributing significantly to workforce participation, family welfare, and gender-inclusive economic growth.
The project fostered greater participation of women in the workforce. The partnership between FLO Chennai and SIPCOT focuses on education-based childcare within the care economy, addressing significant barriers to women’s workforce participation.
United Way Chennai, as the CSR implementing partner, has joined hands with A.R. Foundations Private Limited, RBA Exports Private Limited, and Prakash Ferrous Industries Private Limited to drive an initiative focused on creating a more inclusive and equitable industrial ecosystem. Supported through the generous CSR contributions and donor partnerships of these companies, and guided by Past Presidents of FLO, Sudha Shivkumar and Kavitha Dutt.
