Workshop For The Women Of Tirwa

FLO Lucknow, under the leadership of Chairperson Ms. Vandita Agarwal, in collaboration with Mukul Madhav Foundation, Tirwa Farms successfully conducted its first workshop for the women of Tirwa under the Rural Livelihood Initiative by FLO Lucknow.

The session was hosted at the Fragrance and Flavour Development Centre (FFDC), Kannauj—a premier institute dedicated to research, training, and innovation in essential oils, perfumery, and flavour technology. During the workshop, participants explored the varieties of aromatic plants cultivated locally as well as those sourced from other regions.

They were introduced to the traditional deg-bhapka distillation process and learned how it differs from steam distillation in both technique and aroma retention. In addition, the women received training on various carrier oils, quality testing methods, and the art of creating natural fragrances.

This initiative marks an important step towards empowering rural women with knowledge and skills in sustainable aromatic farming and value-added fragrance production.
