MoU Signed Between FICCI FLO Pune Chapter, BMC Software, & Kirkee Cantonment Board For Installation of Plastic Bottle Collection Cages

FLO Pune, under the leadership of Chairperson Ms. Anita Agarwal, signed a tri-party Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kirkee Cantonment Board and BMC Software India Pvt. Ltd. to implement a key sustainability initiative under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

As a part of their national initiative of Sustainability and Inclusivity, this collaboration aims to promote environmental responsibility and reduce plastic waste by setting up 20 plastic bottle collection cages in key public locations across the Khadki Cantonment area. These cages will serve as visible, accessible collection points encouraging residents and visitors to properly dispose of PET bottles, which will then be sent for recycling.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • FLO Pune Chapter will spearhead the initiative, coordinate stakeholders, and oversee implementation.
  • Kirkee Cantonment Board will provide approvals, space, and support for placement and maintenance.
  • BMC Software will fund the installation of 20 cages and extend technical and branding support as part of their CSR initiative.

Impact

  • Promote sustainable waste disposal habits.
  • Reduce plastic pollution in public spaces.
  • Serve as a model for replicable public-private partnerships in civic sustainability.

This initiative underscores FLO Pune’s commitment to sustainability and collaborative civic engagement, reinforcing the importance of women-led environmental action.
