1st Year Celebration Of Project Skill Her

FLO Uttarakhand, under the leadership of Chairperson Dr. Geeta Khanna, celebrated a significant milestone with the 1st Anniversary of Project Skill Her, held at B.S. Negi Women Polytechnic, Dehradun. Skill Her is FLO Uttarakhand’s flagship initiative, led by Rama Chopra and Gurkiran Pathak, aimed at empowering underprivileged girls through skill development, career-building opportunities, and emotional well-being programs.

Over the past year, the project has created pathways to financial independence and personal growth for young women, making a meaningful impact in their lives. The anniversary celebration was graced by eminent dignitaries, including Kusum Kandwal, Chairperson, Uttarakhand State Commission for Women, Vinod Uniyal, Vice President, Udyamita Parishad, and Dr. Geeta Khanna, who delivered the keynote address.

Also present were FLO Past Chairpersons Dr. Charu Chauhan, Kiran Bhatt Todaria, and Dr. Neha Sharma, who is also a National GB Member, Senior Vice Chairperson Tripti Behl, Vice Chairperson Minakshi Soti, Secretary Smriti Batta, and Treasurer Harpreet Marwah, along with other executive and working committee members, FLO members, students, and faculty.

A spectacular three-sequence fashion show—Jaam Tarangi, Workoholic: 9–5 Runway, and Tash-e-Titli—was presented by girls from economically weaker sections. The show highlighted their creativity, confidence, and growth, leaving the audience inspired and appreciative of their journey. The celebration witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 350 guests, including dignitaries, FLO members, students, teachers, families, and well-wishers.

The energy and collective presence created a ripple effect of motivation and empowerment, reinforcing FLO’s vision of women’s independence and holistic development. The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony honoring contributors, followed by a community lunch that encouraged interaction, reflection, and a spirit of togetherness. The 1st Anniversary of Project Skill Her stood as a powerful testimony to how celebration, recognition, and collaboration can amplify empowerment.

FLO Uttarakhand extends its heartfelt gratitude to B.S. Negi Women Polytechnic for their warm hospitality and to all supporters whose efforts made this milestone celebration a grand success. Together, we continue to strengthen the movement of restoring dignity, building skills, and creating opportunities for women under Project Skill Her.
