FLO Siliguri, under the leadership of Chairperson Ms. Payal Periwal, started Project Sammaan for raising awareness about Menstrual Hygiene among girls and women from rural areas and ladies’ prisons. This three-day menstrual hygiene awareness and pad distribution drive was led by Ms. Rachna Bothra.
The initiative was highly appreciated by SMC, with FLO Siliguri being felicitated for its impactful service. Various educational sessions on menstrual health management and hygiene practices were conducted under Project Sammaan.
Project Sammaan successfully breaks associated taboos surrounding menstruation. Sanitary pads were distributed to rural women, leading to sustainable empowerment in the region. 300+ women and girls benefited through education and hygiene kits.
