FLO Chennai, under the leadership of Chairperson Ms. Niyati A. Mehta, hosted an enlightening session on Cyber Security with Rakshit Tandon at the Madras Management Association (MMA). The session was attended by 75 enthusiastic members and 30 students from Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology, all eager to learn about the digital world and its potential threats — a topic relevant to everyone, “from 8 to 80.”
The session was led by Rakshit Tandon, a renowned cybersecurity expert and founder of the Safe Surfing Campaign. He conducted an engaging seminar on “Cyber Threats in the Digital World”, addressing students, teachers, and parents alike. His mission is to sensitize people about the growing challenges of the internet and to empower them to stay safe online.
Mr. Tandon explained in detail the types of cybercrimes, including social media fraud, data theft, phishing, and online harassment. He also highlighted preventive measures to be taken while surfing the internet, discussed key aspects of the Information Technology Act, and shared the remedial steps one can take if victimized by cyber criminals.
What made his talk especially impactful was his unique ability to connect with audiences across all age groups. His simple, relatable, and often humorous explanations made the complex world of cybersecurity easy to understand. His message was clear — awareness and caution are the best defenses in the digital era.
The session left 105 participants more informed, alert, and motivated to adopt safe digital practices in their personal and professional lives. FLO Chennai’s initiative to host such an insightful session was widely appreciated by all attendees.
